People these days have many questions when it comes to buying TVs. While there are many things to know about different TVs some of the most prevalent questions we get are about Smart TVs.  Many different brands have different options and features that you might want to consider. With this evolving world of smart phones it was inevitable that the technology would pass over to your TV.

Smart TVs are TVs that are constantly connected to the internet, for a variety of purposes. There are a lot of people who think that a smart TV is only for streaming movies or TV shows such as Netflix or Hulu Plus. Now, while that is a great use for the a smart TV there are many other features that you can take advantage of.

New smart TVs come preloaded with a variety of different apps most commonly Netflix, HBO Go, Amazon Instant Video, YouTube, Facebook and Pandora. Many other new smart TVs will even give you access to downloading apps from their own app store such as LG and Samsung. Most will even include their own web browser. What ever your interest are you can find app that fits your likes.  New smart TVs will give you the option to use a QWERTY keyboard either on screen or on the remote itself.

Many people who review new smart TVs have called 2013 the year of the smart TV, with many people just streaming their TV content more and more companies are adding options to get the most out of your TV. LG plans to add apps that give you the option to watch live sporting events through their apps. Samsung, with some of their higher end smart TVs, take away the remote and let you use your hands like you would with an Xbox Kinect.  Most brands will give you the option to add a camera so that you can Skype through your TV. Voice search is also a new feature where you can forgo the typing. Also most will come with a downloadable app so  you can control your TV with you Smartphone.

LG 2013 Google TV

Google has partnered with LG to build their own version of a Smart TV, Google TV. The new 2013 LG Google TV comes with full access to the android marketplace (Google Play) and comes with a built in Google Chrome browser. It’s also one of the only TVs on the market that comes standard with Flash. This means any website that uses flash to play videos such as news sites or ESPN 3 you can watch videos without the hassle. Not to mention the cool QWERTY keyboard on the back side of the remote!
