It seems today the world of cell phones has completely changed how we live our lives. You can’t go to the movies and not look out before the beginning of the movie and see dozens of people on their smartphones, glowing on their faces, updating their Facebook statuses or sending a tweet. It wasn't but 8 years ago when we couldn't even access the internet! No other technology has changed so rapidly in such a short time frame, not even TVs!

When one of us has that unfortunate experience of breaking our phones, we act as though we had lost our first born. Our phones no matter the brand carry our lives. They have infinite number of apps which can be applied to each one of our likes and interests. No matter how it happens, no matter what is broken, we all hate to have a broken phone. Here at Lynn’s we know how expensive a new phone can be, protection plans can be so outrageous it’s hard to weigh the cost.

Protection plans for phones can give you a great piece of mind, but are they really worth the money that you pay? For example Verizon offers protection plans where you pay 6.99 a month for a smartphone (167.76 for a two year plan), 50.00 deductible for each claim, then you are only allowed 2 claims a year.  In two years if you fulfilled the maxim allowed claims a year you would end up paying just over 350 dollars. Apple offers similar services with the same amount of claims per year for 45.00 for each claim. If you don’t sign up for Apple's plan you will be charged a minimum of 149.99 dollars for each repair service. All services require you to mail your device to the carrier or insurer, and can take up to a month to have your device repaired.
